Digital X-Rays for Cats & Dogs
Digital X-rays are a key diagnostic tool for identifying injuries, illnesses, and abnormalities in your pet’s bones, organs, and soft tissues. Our high-quality digital radiography provides sharper images with less radiation exposure than traditional film X-rays, making the process safer and more efficient for your pet.
We use X-rays to detect:
-
Fractures, joint problems, and arthritis
-
Heart and lung conditions
-
Foreign objects and digestive blockages
-
Urinary stones
-
Fluid accumulation
-
Organ enlargement
-
Tumors
Not only do digital X-rays allow us to immediately capture an image, we can also easily send X-rays to a specialist for expert interpretation. With efficient communication, we can have results within an hour, so we can diagnose conditions quickly and begin treatment as soon as possible.
Ultrasound for Pets
Ultrasound allows us to see inside the body in real time, using sound waves to create detailed images of the heart, abdomen, and other soft tissues. This noninvasive, painless procedure is particularly valuable for diagnosing internal issues that may not be visible on X-rays, or for gaining more information on an abnormality detected on X-rays.
We use ultrasound to evaluate:
-
Abdominal organs, including the liver, kidneys, and spleen
-
Pregnancy and fetal development
-
Bladder stones, tumors, and fluid buildup
For emergency cases and certain conditions, we can perform a point-of-care ultrasound called a TFAST (thoracic-focused assessment with sonography for trauma) scan. This quick scan of the chest is used to rapidly assess the heart, lungs, and chest cavity for the presence of air or fluid, but is not a true echocardiogram.
